Places to visit

Bridge Pool Cottage is ideally situated, making it the ideal base for those wishing to visit all areas of Cornwall and indeed parts of Devon and Dartmoor as day trips.
All destinations are within easy reach by car, or, for those who would prefer to leave the car behind, we provide our guests with four bikes, which you are free to use at your own risk. or, if you prefer to walk, the stunning country lanes of Bodmin Moor are all around and the coastal path is also just a short drive, with breathtaking walks in both directions...... or for those wishing to soak up the sun and relax, some of Cornwalls most beautiful coves and beaches are within a few miles and can be easily reached by car.

For "Animal Lovers"

 

  • Gweek National Seal Sanctuary.... rescued and recuperating seals

  • Woolly Monkey Sanctuary.... A wonderful place, rescued primates with gardens & sea views

  • Newquay Zoo.... Delightful zoo and the perfect day out

  • Tamar Otter Sanctuary....A wonderful place, as well as otters you will see deer, wallabies and many varieties of birds 

  • Porfell Animal Land.... An absolute must for animal lovers 

  • Screech Owl Sanctuary....A wonderful place, beautiful owls

  • Lizard Peninsula...most southerly point of UK and a great place to see seals

 

Of "Natural" Interest"

 

  • The Lost Gardens of Heligan... the UK's most famous garden restoration project

  • The Eden Project... the worlds most famous horticultural project

  • Trebah Gardens... Beautiful gardens on the Helford River

  • Coastal Path... walk the 283 mile cornish coast-path, it's simply beautiful 

  • Caerhays Gardens & Castle... Beautiful gardens close to the beach

  • River Cruises... Cruise the Carrick River around Falmouth & Truro

  • Lizard Peninsula... for wonderful coastly walks

  • Lands End... Must be done - a great family day out

  • Cycle Paths... several courses throughout Cornwall including the famous Camel Trail, right outside your cottage door! 

  • Fishing ... right outside your cottage door or sea fishing trips can be found in most of the coastal harbours

  • Adrenalin Quarry! UK's biggest zip-wire, largest swing and fresh water Coasteering including the UK's only Blob 

  • Horse Riding... Enjoy a trek across Bodmin Moor 

  • Surfing... generally better along the North Coast

  • Sea activities... waterski, windsurf, swim, etc 

  • Golf courses... There are several 18 hole courses of excellent quality
