Bridge Pool Cottage

Bridge Pool cottage is full of olde-world charm, complete with original oak beams, inglenook fireplace, a wonky granite wall, quarry tile flooring and is tastefully furnished in keeping with its charm.

 

The cottage has three bedrooms, bathroom, lounge, dining room, kitchen, conservatory, utility room and large enclosed garden.
Being south facing, there is plenty of sunshine all day long for those wishing to take advantage of the Cornish sunshine and down by the river bank, is the perfect place to catch the atmosphere of a warm summer Cornish evening, enjoy a BBQ, relax with a book, a chilled glass of wine and simply watch the world go by.

Lounge and Conservatory

 

The fully carpeted, cosy lounge, has a real cottage feel to it, with its original beams, an old wonky granite wall, complete with Inglenook fireplace which is still home to an original cloam oven and a traditional woodburner, perfect for those chillier evenings, to curl up and relax by. There is a comfy three seater settee with matching chair and pouffe, colour tv/dvd & video, wifi reception, as well as books, games and puzzles to while away a pleasant evening.

or, if you prefer to watch the river life, the conservatory with its evening sun is the perfect vantage point. Lovingly called by many of our guests as the 'dream room', the conservatory features a comfy two seater settee with matching armchair, table and wall lights and lamps for a cosy evening atmosphere. By day, this is a lovely bright and airy room and is the perfect place for a long leisurely breakfast.

Kitchen and Dining

 

Our Country style kitchen diner, with its beamed ceiling, traditional quarry tile flooring and fitted units, has a real home from home feel, with all the conveniences of modern day living with a cottage appeal.

 

There is a intergrated dishwasher and cooker for your convenience, spacious fridge and all utensils are of a very high quality. There is also a microwave for our guests use. 

 

The dining area has a lovely old stripped pine dresser, a large farmhouse style pine table with six chairs and a very old Rayburn to complete the picture.
We have also added, a radio/cd player, for our many guests who love to sit around the large table and simply relax.

Bedrooms & Bathroom

 

 

Our main bedroom, with its cottage style window, offers views of the river and is a real treat to wake up to. The cosy bedroom has a wonderful cottage charm which is complimented by the soft cream painted kingsize bed. An old sea grass chair sits in the corner beside the antique pine wardrobe, chest of drawers and an old fashioned towel rail.There are night storage heaters with built in convector for extra boost to keep you warm, should your visit fall around the chillier times. 

 

Our second double bedroom, has views to the front of the cottage which overlooks the flower beds and a 'cornish' stone hedge. This is a lovely bright and airy room, with a real cosy cottage feel to it.

The double bed is a warm rich pine with matching bedside cabinets. There's plenty of space to store clothes in the lovely Farrow & Ball painted, purpose built wardrobe and matching shelving, an antique chest of drawers and an old pine chair to relax in.

 

 

The twin room also has views to the front of the house and the small cottage style window is prettily dressed with an Austrian blind. The room is smaller than the double bedrooms but has a warm and cosy feel to it.Fully carpeted, has twin single pine beds and towel rail, fitted wardrobes and a night storage heater. The bathroom is clean and contemporary look in beige and white. It is almost fully tiled and has a tiled floor, a heated towel rail and convector heater.

 

The upstairs landing, with access gained from the pine open staircase in the lounge, is home to the airing cupboard and water tank, which although on a timer, can be boost operated with the flick of a switch to ensure you always have plenty of steaming hot water available. 

 

 

Utility Room & Garden

 

The utility room is outside, facing out towards the river. It is home to the deepfreezer, washing machine and tumble dryer and all the little bits you may find useful, such as the clothes basket, pegs, mops etc. There is also an outside WC.

 

The garden is well fenced and has gates around the property which can be bolted for safety, however, we do ask please, that small children are not left unattended in the garden.

There is a large private tarmac drive, which is suitable for at least three cars and the garage, which has room for one car.
